With a vision to “produce classic wines in a new world context that reflect a traditional, old-world way of working, coupled with the new world vineyards from which we source our fruit,” brothers Peter-Allan and Andrew Finlayson are producing some of the most exciting Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs to come from South Africa. They focus their efforts in the Walker Bay region, more specifically the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, working closely with farmers to obtain the most pristine fruit possible.
The Finlayson brothers are no strangers to the wine business. Their father, Peter Finlayson, was one of the original visionaries exploring the potential of Pinot Noir in Hemel-en-Aarde. While Peter-Allan and Andrew initially explored different paths, economics and architecture respectively, their passion and desire to represent the region eventually lured them back into the cellar.
The pair produced their first vintage in 2007 with a Sauvignon Blanc. However, they have since decided to turn their attention Pinot Noir and Chardonnay exclusively.
